Padang Padang: Visit, just for the Indian Ocean

Padang Padang beach (Bali, Indonesia), quite odd a name. Eh? Since we were intrigued by the name and wanted to cool off some heels, post a ‘hot’ visit to the Uluwatu temple, @Srinistuff and I headed off to Padang Padang beach. For me, it was quite an odd experience because apparently the entrance to this beach goes through a big tunnel like road. Once you are out of this, white stone mountain tunnel, the sea overlooks you, with light blue waters. Interestingly, I had read some reviews and the reviews were quite fun. The words that seemed to be giving an exact description were- ‘surfer’s paradise.’

Honestly, my own opinions are quite contradictory. What I found was  a small little, quite dirty and too much of an over crowd. However, what caught my attention was, that there were too many kids floating on the waves of the Ocean. Ahoy! This is a beach to be definitely visited by families and groups with a lot of kids. Unlike, other beaches in Bali, this beach did not really interest my ‘sea-taste’ buds. This beach is about 25 minutes away from Denpasar Airport or 10 minutes from Jimbaran Beach and close with other famous surf points such as Uluwatu temple, Impossible beach, etc.

Having said that, if you want to visit spectacular views of the Indian Ocean, witness a beach whose conscious runs through a White stone mountain, and a grand sunset, then this place is definitely worth a visit.
