Barong Dance is a traditional Balinese form of story-telling, narrating the fight between good and evil. The dance is a classic example of how the Balinese blend myth and history into reality.
The protagonist of the dance, is Barong- the lion-like creature from Balinese mythology. The mask worn by Barong is considered as the sacred item and before it is brought out, a priest must offer blessings by sprinkling them with holy water taken from Mount Agung, and offerings must be presented.
