Personally, I have never had an opportunity to stay at a local’s place in any of the places I have traveled. Either in India or abroad. I have been a person gorging on the experiences of a luxurious stay in 3-star/5-star resorts/hotels. However, my recent experiences in Bali, with 3-star resort in Seminyak and then a luxurious stay in a villa in Ubud,  I have been thinking of how it would be to stay with locals of a particular place, to understand their culture, their lives, their dreams and aspirations from their perspectives. In fact, a lot of other travel bloggers, I have been meeting or talking to, have reiterated the importance of a home-stay to experience a life of true traveler.

So, when I came across Homestay.com‘s sweepstakes/ competition alert, I could not resist and I jumped at the opportunity with my arms open. Homestay.com is an online booking platform for travel accommodation. Homestay.com allow guests to book a room in a local person’s home on a nightly, weekly or monthly basis for a fee.

About the competition: On the eve of its first year anniversary, Homestay.com are inviting people to enter a competition to win a home stay experience. 

How to enter the competition: All you have to do is enter your name and email id here- http://www.homestay.com/1-year. The winner will be chosen randomly by the promoters- Homstay.com, through a lucky draw. The Competition will run from 29th July 2014 until 3 PM GMT 29th August 2014.

What you win: There will be one winner. The winner shall be entitled to flights and accommodation to the value of €4000 only for two people and must travel within 1 year of claiming prize. The Winner shall be entitled to their choice of any one of the homestays available on Homestay.com for up to 10 nights for two  up to the value of €1000. The Winner shall be entitled to flight vouchers to the value of €3000 for two.The Winner shall also be entitled to spending money to the value of €1000 for two.

How to win: Well, there’s no secret recipe here. Here’s what I am going to do. I am going to first enter my details and then just wait for my good luck to work 😉
