Travel moments that left me speechless…

It’s  been a long time since I wished to pen down this post. But when I stumbled upon co-traveller’s Wise Monkeys Abroad  post on places that were their favourites, I was convinced that it was time to share my views on some of the stunning landscapes  that left me speechless. Honestly, the world is home to so much of beauty, diversity, adventurous people, long stretch of colourful lands and flowering nature, that if every traveller starts penning down a blog on these, the digital world will fall short of real estate. Anyway, here are my absolute favourites. I am putting down a  photo album together below. Hope you enjoy them and get inspired to visit these beautiful pearls for yourself one day 🙂

1. Gurudongmar Lake

Gurudongmar, India, Sikkim, Himalayas, Feet on the map, Deepika Gurudongmar Lake, in North Sikkim, India is a clear favourite. The journey towards Gurudongmar is a treacherous mountain drive that begins at 3 AM early morning. Due to strong air currents and unpredictable weather conditions, tourists aren’t allowed at the spot beyond 10 AM in the morning. And therefore, the journey to the spot definitely tests your commitment and love for travel. Gurudongmar, India, Sikkim,, Himalayas Gurudongmar Lake is considered to be one of the most holiest places in Sikkim. Blue azure waters, snow-capped mountains and a long stint of silence…..

2. Pench Tiger Reserve

Pench, India, Madhya Pradesh, India, Feet on the map

Most people associate and die wishing mostly for a tiger sighting in these conservation reserves.  But these reserves are much more and beyond that. The ghostly aura, the wild inhabitants and barren lands render an eerie yet peaceful silence. Just what a body trapped in city -dwelling needs!

3. Dudhsagar Falls

Feet on the map, Dudhsagar

Dudhsagar Falls, situated on the border of Goa and Karnataka in India, have been one of the biggest travel surprises I have had. A 12 KM rail trek is what one requires to undertake to reach these gigantic milky falls. Well, looks easy.. but a lengthy non-stop walk on the unruly rail tracks would put an  athlete to shame! Well, that doesn’t reduce the ultimate bucket of happiness that breaks through the pores of your skin, when the swollen falls unveil itself to you.

4.  Bali

Feet on the map, Uluwatu, Bali

Bali has and will always  hold a special place in my heart. After all, it was my first self-sponsored trip abroad. And  off course, honeymoon is always special. Right? 😉

Feet on the map, Uluwatu, Bali, Deepika

Bali is home to many gigantic and magnificent temples. But two temples are striking in a way, that both of them offer  stunning azure views of the Indian Ocean- Uluwatu and Tanah Lot. Apart from that, both offer the most romantic sunset & sunrise views. Where do you want to witness either of them, is completely upto to you. But I would suggest Sunsrise at Uluwatu and Sunset at Tanah Lot. Tanah Lot allows very close brush with the waters and the beautiful dance of sunset colours looks a stunning nature portrait.

Have you ever witnessed some beautiful landscapes that you think captured your mind? What are those? Go  ahead and share the beauty of this world 🙂
